The process for implementation is key to ensure performance and achieve a sound return on your training and development investment. To achieve this,
Step 1: Establish a Process and Specific Measure for Performance
Prior to any training or presentation, the co-ordinator for your organization will consult with A. W. Anderson & Associates to establish the criteria for which the training will be measured and to identify a specific focus for the participants. Previous training and development will be identified to ensure the Professional Skills Training© program complements and reinforces training provided by your organization. A. W. Anderson & Associates will modify, change and ensure the presentation is specific to the needs of the participants and provide a method for implementation and self coaching.
Step 2: Assessment
After senior management has identified specific performance expectations, if an assessment or survey has not been conducted, it is recommended that input from the specific employees or management is collected to ensure any training and development is congruent and applicable to the issues and situations the participants encounter. A. W. Anderson & Associates can facilitate a current assessment with a focus on current performance expectations.
Step 3: Presentation - Group or Individual Coaching
Training is presented either in groups or one-on-one for individuals in facilities provided by your organization or, if more convenient, on site. The presentation or individual coaching will conclude with specific exercises, assignments or tasks associated with the performance objectives identified in Step 1 above, to ensure application is ongoing and that your organization will be able to monitor the activity and results of the participants.
Step 4: Review and Follow Up
To ensure the learned skills are applied, follow up by A. W. Anderson & Associates or a designated coach from your organization is recommended within 30, 60 or 90 days. Individual consultations to address unique circumstances or special situations are recommended, with emphasis placed on training managers and supervisors in house to coach proactively. Internet and telephone coaching can be effectively utilized to reduce costs.
Step 5: Management
The most critical aspect of ensuring training is permanent requires the guidance and leadership of managers and supervisors. To ensure the goals in step one above are implemented, A. W. Anderson & Associates will provide management consultations for managers and supervisors to reinforce coaching procedures, and provide senior management with independent status reports that ensure continuous improvement processes are implemented.
